Live video not available in Home App

Hi ,

Every since I moved my Google cameras from Nest App to Home App, 2 of my cameras are not connecting or showing live video.

If I power the cameras off and on they show live video, however after a time they stop shooting live video again.

 

Never had any issues with these cameras through the Nest App.

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I understand that after transferring your Nest Cameras from the Nest app to the Google Home app, your cameras are not connecting or showing the live video. You also mentioned that even if you power cycle the cameras, they only show the live feed for a short time and then stop working. I know this situation must be concerning, as you never had this issue when your Nest Cameras were in the Nest app. I appreciate the information you've shared so far. Don't worry, let's work together to get this fixed. To help with that, I have a few questions for you:

  • When your Nest Cameras go offline, what is the status LED light on the device? You can check out the following article for reference: Nest camera and doorbell lights and sounds.
  • How far are your Nest Cameras from your router?
  • Are you running the latest version of the Google Home app?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near your Nest Cameras that could cause interference with the connection?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps besides power cycling your Nest Cameras?
Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Hi Jonathan,

 

Thanks for your reply. All aspects of the camera's are functioning as before the change from Next App to Google Home App, and nothing in my home has changed since the App change. I use Google Mesh routers that all work fine, and no interference now or before i.e. have constant 750 MB speed. All lights on camera's are working as normal. All software is up to date on all products, including Google Home App i.e. usually do weekly App updates. Believe the main issue I am reading online is your Google Home App does not have good compatibility with Next CAM outdoor and Next CAM indoor, and I have both of these products. Will you be providing a software fix on the Google Home App to make these work again like they did in the Nest App?

Hi Jonathan,

 

Believe there is a misunderstanding, as my Nest outdoor and indoor cameras are still not working.

I was trying to advise you in my last post that other online posts are saying that Google Home App is having issues with older Nest cameras. Can you please confirm when a software update will be available for the Home App ?
