Successfully installed Google Doorbell (wired). Set notifications for People and identified a couple Familiar faces. So, I’m notified every time I, or my spouse passes in front of the door. Turned off Familiar Faces, since we both know when we’re in range of the Google Doorbell. Now we’re notified as people. So - to avoid this annoyance, I’ve turned off notifications for people, pretty much eliminated the feature for which we installed the doorbell.
Why can this app not identify a familiar face and recognize that it doesn’t need to inform me that I’ve just approached my own door? Or is this bait and switch - implying a feature that either doesn’t exist or just doesn’t work as advertised?

Hi Robgilgan,
Thanks for posting in our Community. I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. Let’s check it out.
I totally understand that turning off notifications for people saved in the familiar face library is a good feature to use with your Nest camera and doorbell devices, but it isn’t available. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it.
For familiar face detection, you will get a notification for everyone saved in your familiar face library, not just one person. You can check out this handy guide for more information.
There are different ways to manage the Familiar face notifications.
