Migrating from Nest

My Nest IQ camera and Nest Doorbell won’t migrate without a code that’s on the back of the devices.  The devices have been installed so I can’t get the code off the back of the device.  Is there another way to get these devices to migrate?

Hi TCott,  I'm an end user like you and to the best of my knowledge there is no other way to get the codes. They might be on the documentation that came with the devices when they were new.  And for security reasons Google will not help you with this problem.  As best I can surmise they don't want to help people get stolen cameras working.   You best bet is to take down the devices and take a snap shot of the codes and keep them in your photo albums. 

One more question.  In the last few years there have been a few different kinds of migration.  Which migration are you trying to do?    Migrate from a NEST account to a google account?  Or are you trying to migrate your Gen 1 cameras from the NEST APP to the newer GOOGLE HOME Preview app.... in which case I would say don't do it.  There are to many features as of yet still missing in the Google Home app and going back isn't easy.
