Missing CVR recordings on wired indoor nest cam

I bought a indoor nest cam for CVR and immediately subscribed to Nest Aware Plus. For the first half day it recorded continously. Then it recorded for a few hours in the morning and then when I keep scrolling to find other video, it says "there was a problem connecting to the camera stream". That was a few hours ago while away from home. Now I am home and it shows another random 2 hours and then nothing else but the error message? Does this happen often? If so I might return this and just go wired PoE.

Hi ScootyDuty,  This should be fixable.   Can you confirm in the Google Home app, go to the main page where you can see all your devices, click on the GEAR (settings) icon and scroll down and hit the NEST AWARE box, and see what it says?  Make sure at the very top it says Nest Aware Plus.

Yes it does say Nest Aware Plus. I just checked on it recently and saw that there is video recording but I'm guessing I couldn't stream it at the time. Normally if I was not able to stream it for a few minutes because of an error I wouldn't mind. But to not be able to see any of the last 12 hours or so whenever I want is an issue. 

I've found that my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE had this issue while my wife's iPhone 11 does not. How can that be?

Hmmmm, I'm not sure.  The first thing that comes to mind is to try logging out of the app on your oS20, delete the app from your S20 and re-download it from the store, log back in and see how it behaves.

 

Tried it and it did not work still. Still getting two random hours of recordings and then up to 4-6 hours of nothing then more recordings. My wife iPhone still has no issues. 

Wow,,, I'm at a loss on this one.   It almost sounds like the camera is losing it's WIFI connection.  Maybe try (just for testing) moving the camera to the same room as the WIFI router and seeing if you get a full 24  hours of recording.

I honestly don't think it's wifi issues since my wife's phones has no issues brining up any recorded video.

The camera is also about 25 feet away from my Nest WiFi router and no obstacles in the way. I guess it is either Android related, or S20, or just my phone specifically. 

OH, sorry,  I misunderstood.  I didn't realize it was working on a different phone.  I thought the problem was Google wasn't showing it as being recorded on their servers but it sounds like that part is working okay and the problem is just restricted to the one S20 phone.   

So what if you try and view footage on that phone when you leave your house so that the phone is only using it's cellular (4g or LET or 5g) connection?  Does it work then?  You could also test this by just turning off the WIFI on the S20 while you are at home so the phone is only using cellular data.... just for testing.

My S20 will not show it on cellular data or WiFi. My wife's iPhone 11 works on both. I thought maybe the Android 12 update would do something but still the same. The app is up to date too. I am not sure what else to do. I've unplugged the camera I've uninstalled and reinstalled on the Google Home app and still nothing. I might be getting a new phone soon and if it still doesn't work I will probably just return it. It's too bad because I like everything about it other than this issue.
