Can't figure out how to get motion sensor to work when someone or something is moving any help appreciated

A few questions:  Are you using the NEST app? or the GOOGLE Home App?   Which nest camera are you talking about?  

In any case you should be able to go into the App on your phone and select the GEAR (settings) icon and look for the NOTIFICATIONS option.  From there you should be able to get this setup
