I had an indoor wired Nest camera. It was supposedly Motion and Sound activated. What I need to know, is when the camera is activated by sound/motion, is there a cycle that tells the camera if there is sound/motion. Ongoing? If so, how often and how long does the camera check itself for Sound/Motion?
How long does an activation by S/M last? As in, once it is activated by s/m does it record for a specific amount of time.? Is there a break between these “captures”
Does the camera ever have a space between the time it recycles?

Hello mudmonkey46,
Thank you for posting in our Community. I have a few questions:
The maximum recording length depends on the type of camera you have and if you have a Nest Aware subscription. The camera will capture events triggered by sound or motion, but it will trigger a short cooldown period each time a notification is sent. The duration of the cooldown period varies by alert type (e.g., person, sound, motion, etc.).
Here is a helpful guide on How Nest cameras detect sound and motion.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Best,
Lance

I'm not sure you are getting these they don't show up in my sent box. Again, not sure if it a 1 or a 2 ....I bought bit in 2017...I had a Nest Aware account and used the nest app....I think the last part of your answer was what I was looking for....Can the camera miss capture information when capturing from the clip it is on ....there seems to be about a 3-6 second gap in a capture clip that was motion/sound activated. Is that possible and can it be explained. As I say the end of your first answer was on track with what I am trying to confirm. I was using iPhone. My wife was on Android but I don't think she ever used it. Thanks for your time and help Mike

Hi mudmonkey46,
Thanks for getting back to us. Let’s get this sorted out.
What type of Nest Aware subscription do you have? Does this happen on multiple Nest cameras?
Since your Nest camera is set up in the Nest app, check if you can see the video history at https://goo.gle/2qjvVSU. Does it also show the same 3-6 second gap?
Keep me posted.
Thanks for the help, Jenelyn.
Cheers,
Lance
