Mounting Nest Cam with Floodlight (wired) on surface mount junction box

My electrical conduit is surface mounted (not inside the wall) so I need to mount the camera on a round surface mount junction box (appx 4" diameter, commonly called a "bell box"). The camera base has a bigger diameter. Will this work? Are there openings in the base that would be exposed if installed in this manner?

If it were me, I'd take a picture of the existing junction box along with measurements--plus the base of the floodlight camera--into a hardware store or a store like Home Depot, Menard's, or Lowe's, and see what they suggest. If you don't have the camera yet, you can view its mounting hardware starting at about 2:06 in the video in these instructions: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/11003780?hl=en

Hey folks!

Thanks for your help here, MplsCustomer.

Good question! Have you tried the suggested steps by MplsCustomer? If not, you may also check out this guide: Technical specs for Nest cameras and doorbells. Look for the size and weight portion of the article.
