Hello,
I'm frustrated! I have a Nest Doorbell (battery) which is working fine, but I set up an automation in the Home App like this which is always triggered TWICE when someone pushs the doorbell:
metadata:
name: Front door
description: ...
automations:
starters:
- type: device.event.DoorbellPress
device: FrontDoor - FrontDoor
actions:
on: true- type: assistant.command.Broadcast
devices:
- Kitchen - Kitchen
message: "Front Door"
The Home app activity log also displays that the automation was started twice due to a change of a device (doorbell in this case).
Why does the doorbell trigger each automation twice? 😞
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Simon91,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Doorbell (battery) is triggering automations twice. I'd be happy to help.
Based on your description, could you please verify whether you only have one routine configured to trigger the desired action with your doorbell in the Google Home app?
I believe the inconvenience stems from having the same automation in multiple routines within the Google Home app.
In the meantime, I recommend reviewing the article "Create and manage Routines in Google Home."
Please keep me posted.
Regards,
Anders
