If your Google Nest cameras or doorbells have stopped working, try these troubleshooting steps:
1. Check power and connections
Make sure the camera/doorbell is receiving power (LED status light should be on).
If battery-powered, charge it fully before testing again.
2. Verify Wi-Fi connection
Open the Google Home app and check if the device shows as “offline.”
Restart your router and modem.
Move the device closer to your Wi-Fi router, or ensure there’s no major interference.
3. Restart the camera/doorbell
For wired models, unplug power for 10 seconds, then reconnect.
For battery models, press and hold the reset button (time varies by model, check support guide).
4. Update firmware and app
Make sure the Google Home app is updated in the Play Store or App Store.
Firmware updates for cameras install automatically when connected to Wi-Fi.
5. Remove and re-add device
In the Google Home app, remove the camera/doorbell, then add it back as a new device.
If the device still does not connect after these steps, contact Google Nest support directly from the Google Home app under Settings › Help & feedback so they can check your device logs and help with replacement if needed.
