My previous spotlight was mounted under the eaves of our house. I wanted to use the same junction box. That forced me to mount the camera vertically, pointing down, instead of horizontally. This mounting inverts the image so everybody is upside down.  Is there a way in Google home or nest app to to flip the image 180゚ ?

In another post, I talk about an adapter that I designed and I am now having 3D printed.  This will convert an outlet box mounted on the roof soffit to a vertical outlet.  The post is below.  This doesn't answer your question directly, but it is an option if you want it.

I have finalized the design and printing for the adapter that will allow proper installation of the Nest Cam with Floodlight on the eve (roof soffit) of a house.  The team at printeriordesigns.com have the design in house and will print each adapter for $26 plus shipping.  Contact them to see the design.  Also, they can modify the design to fit your needs and print in many colors, I am going for white.  I have one adapter on order and will post an installation video soon.  Hopefully this works for those of us that have lighting outlets installed on the soffits.

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I'm terribly sorry to hear that you're having these troubles. I understand how upsetting this could be, but I'm happy to assist you with this obstacle. Unfortunately, Nest Cam with floodlight is designed to be mounted upright on vertical surfaces. Installing it any other way (such as horizontally, sideways, upside down or at an angle) may reduce the floodlight’s functionality by limiting the motion sensor’s field of view. There is no such option to adjust the view on the app.

Best Regards,
Brad

This severely limits the use of the camera and spotlight.  Google need to put a warning on the packaging and in your specs. And offer free returns and labor install who purchase until warning is  posted.

not a happy purchaser
