My nest wired doorbell which is now about 3.5 years old just disconnected one day. all my other nest cameras and thermostats are working just fine. I tried adjusting wifi and tried even re-installing but keep getting error NC021.  i have read other topics on this but nothing has worked.

Hello nishly18,

Thanks for posting here in the Community and for sharing with us the error code that you're getting. NC021 means that your Nest Camera couldn’t connect to your phone through Bluetooth. You’ll need to make sure that Bluetooth is working and is enabled on your device. Follow this link for the troubleshooting steps needed for this issue. Select the NC errors drop down and click the NC021 error code. Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Emerson

Hi Yes I tried this already. bluetooth on my phone works fine. I do not know why it the doorbell stopped working all of a sudden. I tired removing and reinstalling and still have this error

Hey there,

Thanks for taking some steps beforehand — these are of great help! Let’s sort this out —  a few questions: what’s the voltage of your transformer? What’s the status light of the doorbell? How’s the temperature of the doorbell (warm, hot, cold or normal)? What country are you located in? Has there been any recent power outage in your area? Also, has it been exposed to direct sunlight?

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can also try:

  1. Ensure the wires are connected securely into the doorbell.
  2. Remove the wires from the doorbell then use the included USB cable to plug your camera directly into a USB port on your computer.
  3. When the light pulses blue, wait for a couple of minutes to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi. Otherwise, your doorbell is dead.
  4. Mount your doorbell to the wall plate.

Important: When the doorbell shows a blue pulsing light when connected to a computer, it means it’s working. They may be issues on your wires or transformer. I recommend scheduling a visit with our partnered Nest Pro.

I appreciate the help, Emerson.

Thanks,

JT

a few questions:
what’s the voltage of your transformer? i dont know, but this doorbell cam has worked for 4 years without issue
What’s the status light of the doorbell? blue ring
How’s the temperature of the doorbell (warm, hot, cold or normal)? normal
What country are you located in? US
Has there been any recent power outage in your area? no
Also, has it been exposed to direct sunlight? no
I had a pro install the doorbell, I am not comfortable to remove it myself and hook up wires to USB to test it.
It is clear only and not connecting to the app/phone, all other devices are working fine
