We've only had the lock in use for less than 2 years. After spending nearly an hour with Nest troubleshooting our lock alarm going off, they told us to call Yale for hardware problems because they are Nest. Our alarm keeps going off even after new batteries are installed. Warranty for Nest is 1 year so I guess after a year, consumers are stuck with a lock that does not function. DO NOT BUY!
