NEST wired doorbell peel

Doorbell is started to peel right before a large party. I was going to use the doorbell camera for entry and identification but now I’m afraid I can’t show off this product 😞 My brother got me this doorbell Christmas 2023 and it’s been installed less than 2 years. Pretty disappointed …

Peeling of the black face on the 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells (installed in the Google Nest app) is a known issue, with hundreds of posts in this forum. It's happened to two of our three Nest Hellos. We purchased silicone "skins" on Amazon to cover the peeling shards, because they are past the 1-year warranty period.

I haven't heard of this happening with the 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell (installed in the Google Home app) that you indicate you have, but if you installed your doorbell around Christmas 2023, you're within the 1-year warranty and could try contacting Support about a replacement:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

Can you post a picture of the peeling?  I have also not heard of the Gen 2 doorbells having this cosmetic issue.
