Okay, much to ask here. Did a lot of research but not getting very clear answers...
I have a bunch of Gen 1 Nest Cameras with a Nest Aware subscription. I view the cameras through the Nest app.
Since I can't buy Gen 1 cameras anymore, the next camera I am adding to my home is a Gen 2.
It looks like, the only way I can see all my Gen 1 and 2 cameras in the same place is by migrating from the Nest app to Google Home. Not happy about doing that, as I hear Google Home functionality is very limited compared to Nest.
I also read the Nest Aware subscription for Gen 2 cameras is cheaper than the one for Gen 1 cameras. Not certain how true that is.
Questions:
1. Can Gen 1 cameras be migrated over to Google Home so that they can all be viewed in one place alongside the newer Gen 2 cameras?
2. Can I still use the Nest app after making the migration? I realize Gen 2 cameras will not show up in it
3. Is the Google Home App limited compared to the Nest App? I read that you can't view footage as freely, which makes me wonder why I would then want the Nest Aware subscription if I can't see 24/7 footage.
4. Is the Nest Aware subscription cheaper for Gen 2 cameras? If it is, can I cancel my Gen 1 subscription, sign up for the Gen 2 subscription, and have all my cameras (GEN 1 an 2) covered under it?
Anything else I should know before even considering migrating my Nest account to Google Home?
Thank You

We bought a battery camera in 2021, and have been using the Google Home app for that camera, while still using the Google Nest app for all of our other 1st gen cameras and doorbells.
It is possible to migrate your Nest Account to a Google Account, and then get a 2nd gen Nest Aware subscription (you'll have to cancel your 1st gen subscription). A 2nd gen Nest Aware subscription covers ALL 1st and 2nd gen cameras and doorbells in the same Google Nest "home/structure". We did so in 2020 because with several cameras it was cheaper. Here is Google Nest's price list:

In order to get all of your 1st gen cameras and doorbells (except the IQ cameras) in the Google Home app, you have to get on the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app (it's been beta for over 2 years) and then individually "transfer" your 1st gen cameras and doorbells:
We have not done so because the Google Home app still lacks so many Nest app functions:
