Nest Aware Subscription

Our car was stolen and I didn't have a nest aware account, so I don't have it on camera as it was likely more than three hours before. I signed up for a nest aware account, is there any way to go back and find it now? Or do events only save after signing up?

I don't believe you have access to any of the footage yourself because it won't be saved on your nest aware account because you didn't have it. But that doesn't mean the video is gone forever i would try calling google and seeing if they have video available to them

Turns out it does not. From google chat:

"The Nest Camera starts recording footage when Nest Aware is attached to the camera. As per the plan it creates online storage and saves the video history as per the day plan.
 
I understand how important the footage is for you. Since the camera wasn't recording at that time, I am sorry we will not be able to view the past videos. Due to customer security and Privacy reasons, Google Nest doesn't keep back up. We don't want our customers' data to be viewed by anyone else. We are committed to customer’s privacy and security."
