Nest Battery cameras plugged in / power outage?

If we hardwire (i.e. keep them plugged in) our indoor battery powered cameras, will they automatically switch to battery power if there is a power outage, and then back to electricity when the power returns?

@Fiddledd

Yes. We've had a battery camera for 19 months, plugged in with the optional power cable. If we lose power or unplug the camera, it switches to battery power (and therefore only recording detected events), and switches back to 24/7 recording when power is restored or the camera is plugged in again.
