I just installed 2 indoor Nest Cams (Battery) and I thought everything was working great until I realized that the live stream times out at exactly 5 minutes. I then get an error message saying “Camera unavailable. Couldn’t reach this camera”. Then I have to press the Retry button to get the live stream up again, but only for 5 minutes at a time.
I have tried troubleshooting by updating my iOS software, deleting and reinstalling the Google Home app, recharging the Nest Cams, resetting the Nest Cams, rebooting both my iPhone and iPad, but nothing has worked.
We would like to keep the live feed open overnight to monitor our toddler in their room, but aren’t able to do that because of this problem - very annoying and disappointing.
Has anybody experienced this or know how to troubleshoot or change a setting somewhere to not have the live feed time out? Thanks

Are your cameras running on battery power? We've had a battery camera for over 4 years--plugged in with the optional 10-meter power cable--and can livestream it for longer periods.
The Google Nest Help topic below says:
"To conserve power, your live video stream will automatically stop:
Live video from battery-powered Nest cameras and doorbells stops after 5 minutes.
Live video from wired Nest cameras and doorbells stops after 12 hours."

Yes, mine are battery powered. I will look into the 10-meter power cable. Thank you!

(There are also 5-meter cables.)
You MIGHT have to factory reset your cameras and reinstall them when you get the power cables. I've seen several posts from customers in this forum who purchased a power cable AFTER installing their cameras and found that they kept running on battery power. It SEEMS that the cameras need to be plugged in DURING the install in order for a hidden setting to be set to tell the camera that it is running on household current and NOT on battery power. These customers found they had to factory reset their cameras and reinstall them. (I've never seen any documentation on this.)
