My Nest Cam Indoor Wired (2nd generation) stopped to work after about 45 days working properly.
I reset the camera, router, and kept it close to the router, and follow procedures recommended (such as turn-on airplane mode and turn-on wifi only) but it still unable to connect to my wifi network.
- I tested connecting to a hotspot set up in my iPhone (pointing to the same network) and it worked, so somehow it is getting blocked when I try to connect to the network it was already connected, even though I have reset the router and the camera.
In my Router list of devices connected/disconnected, the camera doesn't appear there, which makes sense, since I reset the router.
I'm using:
- Google Home: IOS app
- Internet Provider: Spectrum
----
My steps on Google Home:
1. + Add
2. New Device
3. Then I choose my home
4. It shows: Looking for devices
5. It doesn't find anything and I have to choose in it in a list
6. I choose Camera / Net Cam (indoor, wired, 2nd generation)
7. I scan the QR code
8. I choose Next, Agree, Agree, Next, Yes, I'm in, Next,
9. It shows: "Connecting to joining device"
10. I choose my wifi network in the list
11. It asked for a password, even though I have chose "Use this wi-fi network to set up future devices" about 100 times.
12. I type the password, click connect and it shows: Connecting to Wi-Fi
13. After a few seconds it shows "Couldn't connect to Wi-Fi"
I tried probably 100x it in different ways, using my iPad, my old phone, my new phone, with wifi disabled, enabled, cellphone data disabled/enabled, next to the router, etc.... and nothing.
Would be great if I could receive a new camera and return this one.
Appreciate any help on it.

Hi Flaviovb,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, are you trying to connect it to the 2.4GHz or 5GHz? Have you tried contacting Spectrum and asking for assistance if you can check the settings of your router? Ask them if there's any settings that restricts your Nest Camera to connect to the router.
Best,
Emerson

Good news, I was able to connect the camera to my wifi after I reset the modem by pushing the button reset on the back of the router and also with a new version of Google Home (noticed the new version because the ADD button is showing more options).
I had previously restarted the router using the Spectrum app.
What solved the problem:
- I don't know if was the modem reset (manually pushing the button) or the app updated, or the combination of both.
** In order to reset the device, this spectrum router requires to hold the button between 4 and 14 seconds, but no more than this, otherwise it will reset the router to factory configuration. **
@EmersonB answering your question, according to the manual the modem supports: Concurrent 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands
