Nest Cam Outdoor (Battery) - Didn't pick up Car Being Stolen!!!!

HHH97
Community Member

My car was stolen out of my driveway last evening and the Nest Cam (outdoor/battery) did NOT pick up a person or the car moving!!!  Why do I have a security camera?  Product has proven worthless at a critical time.  Event notifications are turned on for: People, animals, vehicles.

Thank you for nothing.

They updated the software and made night time video worse and more blurry!! Of course it would go stolen undetected, stupid Google!

Hello everyone,

@HHH97, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We know where you're coming from and this is not the experience we want you to have. To confirm, do you have a Nest Aware subscription? We highly recommend you enable the motion. Also, try turning off and on all your notification settings. Let us know your update here.

@RoddyDuterte, we hear you and ensure that we'll learn from your experience as we continually improve our products and services. Rest assured that we'll take this as feedback and learn from this to deliver a better process and experience in the future.

Regards,

Emerson

Emerson,

Yes, I have a nest aware subscription. I have been paying for it for over a year or two.   Either your product failed when needed most, or it was defeated by a $40 jammer sold on Amazon. Either way your product is not worth the price and subscription if it doesn’t work.  Also, I’ll be sure to reset all of my notification settings in advance of the next time I am robbed.  Already headed to Costco to buy a wired system that is more reliable.

Hi HHH97,

Thanks for getting back to us. We hear you and we want to help you with this. Do you have an activity zone setup? Make sure that the Vehicle under your Seen Events option is enabled. You may also try restarting your Nest Camera and Wi-Fi router to refresh the connection. Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Emerson
