Nest Cam (battery) will not stay charged even when wired

The outdoor camera has the optional wired power connection but reports that the battery charge is low and shuts down. The outlet has been checked and is providing the proper voltage. The power cord has been reseated numerous times and made sure the contacts are clean. The unit is not in direct sunlight and the temperature is just normal summertime nights.

This seems to be a common issue. How do we get the device replaced?

The older wired model functioned perfectly for years.

We've had the battery camera for almost 3 years now, and ours stays charged and online. If we go to Settings | Battery, our camera always shows as "Plugged in" with an infinite symbol. Is your power cable plugged in with the power cable feeding towards the FRONT of the camera?

You could try contacting Support:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.
