I recently added two nest cam battery cameras to the outside of my house and they are wired up to an outlet. Should I be able to get 24/7 recording with that now and not just events that the cameras caught on their own?

You get 24/7 recording if you have a Nest Aware Plus subscription. We have that, and see 24/7 history for 10 days with our Google Nest Camera (Battery). However, you're supposed to get a free 30-day subscription with a new camera. If you go to your camera in the Google Home app, and--on the screen with the live feed, and tap on the feed, and then click on "History" at the bottom of the screen, you should see a timeline near the bottom of the screen. You can use that to scroll sideways through your 10 days of 24/7 history, though it scrolls rather slowly and doesn't work as well as the Google Nest app.
If these are your first cameras, you may have to enable Nest Aware in Settings | Nest Aware in the Google Home app. We already had cameras so it started automatically. Maybe this page on Google Nest Help will help:

I got free net aware when buying nest cam battery. But I do not get 24/7 recording with it, even plugged in power. Do you know how I can upgrade from net aware free 30 days to net aware plus right away so I can get the recording 24/7?

This is Google Nest Help's page for buying a Nest Aware subscription:

Thanks @MplsCustomer
I was at Step 4, click on Settings then Features then Chose Nest Aware which takes me to the existing Nest Aware already set up (comes free with buying a nest cam), part of Google home app.
My question: how can i upgrade to Nest Aware Plus from the existing Nest Aware screen? Thank you so much!

I'm just another Nest customer and don't know why it isn't working for you. Google's language seems to indicate it should: "you can subscribe to Nest Aware through the Google Home app on your Android device during or after a $0 30-day trial."
We first enrolled in 2019 during our free initial subscription, but the program was different then, and we enrolled in the Google Nest app.
