Nest Cam not connecting to Nest App only to Home App

I have a nest app and Google home. I added a 2nd nest cam ( battery outdoor) and set it up. Working fine but can only see it in the Google Hime app and not in the Nest app that I use more often. How do I get to see the new camera in the Nest app? When I try to add it within nest it loads up Google home for setup with the QR code but the info is not transferred to the Nest app. So in summary, can see it well in home app but not in Neat app. Help?

Unfortunately, as we discovered in Sept. 2021 when we bought a 2nd gen battery camera, Google Nest's 2nd gen cameras and doorbells work only in the Google Home app and not in the Google Nest app. We've been using 2 apps ever since.

It is possible now to add many 1st gen cameras and now doorbells to the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Public-Preview-updates-Expanded-support-for-Nest-Doorbel...). We haven't done so because there are still many Nest app features that are not available in the Google Home app (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/13038234#zippy=%2Cnest-app-only-features).  For example, we use the Zoom & Enhance feature on all of our 1st gen cameras and doorbells, but it's not available in the Google Home app.

Thanks and that’s disappointing. The Nest app is more user friendly than Google home and their documentation did it clarify this.
