Nest Cam with Floodlight reinstall issues

Moderator edit: Subject updated for clarity and findability.

I had an issue with constantly getting a low battery alert on my outdoor camera with flood lights. So I uninstalled the camera gave it a break. Now I'm trying to reinstall back to my home and it will not work. I pressed the reset button on the back heard the tunes, nothing. The green light won't come back on. It was on prior to the reset. This has been a headache from about 4 months after install. I will take all suggestions and help!

@Mamalynn

Did you perform these steps?

"Press and hold the button:
At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you'll hear a countdown tone.
At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the camera starts the factory reset, and you'll hear a confirmation tone.
Release the button. Your camera will restore to its factory settings."

If power to your floodlight camera is always on, your battery should NOT deplete. Has the power cord been plugged in securely with the cord feeding towards the FRONT of the camera? When you checked Settings | Battery, it should have shown as "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol.

(We've had a battery camera (which is the same camera) plugged in for over 2 years and the battery has never depleted.)

You could try contacting Support, using the link and instructions in this post:

This is hardwired camera flood light combo. It has shown the ️ symbol, however I was getting the error constantly and deleted it. Now, I wasn't looking at the light when I pressed the rest button. I did the 10 seconds, it played the tune and restarted, but I was never able to tell if it connected back to my wifi, I'm not seeing a green light and I'm not sure what steps to take to get restarted.

@Mamalynn

After a factory reset (you need the full 12 seconds, as indicated in the instructions), you then have to reinstall the camera in the Google Home app, just as if it were a new camera.

Hello Mamalynn,

Thanks for getting back to us. After the first chime, you'll keep on pressing and holding down the reset button until you hear the seconds chime. After the second chime, that's the only time you'll release the reset button.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Emerson
