Nest Cam with floodlight / Activity or animal filter

We have a Nest outdoor cam with floodlight installed and have Nest Aware service.  It would record Activity or animal but somehow when you filter all recordings it will show there's none.  It seems like those type of events gets deleted off my queue after a 24 hour period.  Is there way to keep that from happening?  Thanks

@Kris_B

We have a battery camera (plugged in), which is the same camera as the floodlight camera, but without the floodlight, and we have a Nest Aware Plus subscription. There should be no way for events to get deleted from your history if you have a subscription, unless you delete your video history.

If you go to your camera in the Google Home app and go to Settings | Video | Video history, what option is checked? If you go to Settings | Notifications, which events do you have selected for being recorded and which one for receving notifications?

I have 30 day video history selected and for notification I have it set to notify for events I want notification.  And activity or animal is one of them.  I'm not sure why it shows no recorded event when I know there should have been there some I saw them the day before

@Kris_B

That seems odd. Is the circuit for your floodlight camera always turned on, as it should be? If you go to your camera in the Google Home app or on home.google.com website, it should always be "Live". Are you getting notifications for the events that aren't showing up in your history?

I've seen lots of posts from customers with floodlight cameras reporting lots of issues. I'm just another Google Nest customer, so I can't tell what's really going on. But some customers with floodlight cameras report the battery on their camera is running down, but that should never happen if their camera is always connected to power.

I do know that if we turn off the power to our battery camera, so that it is running on battery power, it goes into "Idle" mode and does NOT do well at waking up to detect and record events.

It's hardwired and always "live".  We do get a notification when the power source is off.  I've called Google support but weren't able to fix the problem.  They suggested to factory reset the camera.  I'm going to save some videos before I do so and see if that fixes the problem.

I did a little more digging and it looks like the event is not getting deleted.  When I apply the "activity or animal" filter on my full history of recorded videos it's not finding them for some reason.  But if I scroll through all recordings I can find them there.
