Nest Camera constantly clicking at night

MLGinCMH

I just installed a new Nest camera installed on front porch under overhang. We keep a light on during dark/overnight hours. This evening I discovered that the camera clicks every 30 seconds or so, and the green indicator light brightens briefly upon click. What is happening? How can I stop it? It seems like this would be a drain on the battery and cause extra wear on the unit.

Hi, I'm an end user like you. I have been very active on this forum for a few years and I don't believe I have ever heard of this.  I'm going to try and escalate this and get you some assistance.

Hello folks,

@MLGinCMH, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, have you checked the live feed if it's on night vision mode? Where did you purchase it? Try putting it down and check if it will do the same. Also, you may restart it and monitor its behaviour. Let us know how it goes.

To restart:

  1. Plug your Nest Camera into a power source.
  2. Locate the reset button on the back of the camera.

Tip: The reset button on the Nest Cam (battery) is located on the back of the camera head.
  3. Press and hold for 5 seconds.
  4. Your camera will restart, and the status light will be steady, solid white.

I appreciate your response, EmptyNester.

Regards,

Emerson
