Nest Camera troubleshooter indicates no wi fi from camera

My Nest camera purchased in 2019 indicates no wi fi from camera. I get live camera input but no recording or notifications unless I ring the doorbell. Was good until yesterday. Rebooted router and it indicates wi fi is good. Is there anything I can do next or do I need to replace the doorbell camera? My subscription is up to date.

Hi Stewball,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest doorbell is indicating no Wi-Fi signal. I understand how inconvenient that can be, especially considering you're getting live video but not recordings or notifications unless the doorbell is rung. I appreciate all the efforts you've made to resolve this issue. Help is here!

To better assist you with accurate information, I’d like to confirm the following:

  • What is the specific model and generation of the Nest doorbell?
  • How far is the doorbell from the router?
  • Are there other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the doorbell?
  • What's the status of the LED light on your doorbell?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the doorbell?

In the meantime, let's check a few tips:

  • Restart: A simple restart can sometimes resolve minor glitches. Refer to this article: Restart your Nest doorbell. Depending on the model you have.
  • Wi-Fi Connection: Verify that your Wi-Fi network is stable.
  • App Connection: Ensure the app is up-to-date and you are logged in with the correct account.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany

Nest Doorbell camera is Model NC510US wired gen 1 serial # 19AA02AE151901HW purchased from Best Buy 2019.

Doorbell camera is 15 feet from router. I reb with a good signal. I rebooted router and tried 10 feet with no change. There are 2 Galaxy android phones, a Dell pc, an IPAD, and printer that were all connected to the same wi-fi network when the doorbell was working. LED light is green and I  restarted the doorbell with no change. No other electronic devices near the doorbell. Wi-fi is stable and app is up to date. The fact that the doorbell troubleshooter indicates no wi-fi FROM doorbell and the Windows pc version of Next just spins in a circle when trying to start would seem to indicate a doorbell camera malfunction. The android version works for LIVE viewing and sound only.

I've been communicating with Google support through Messenger. Nothing has changed in my setup since I installed my Nest doorbell gen 1 camera model NC510US in 2019 except my router 3 years ago and it didn't affect my camera operation. I restarted my camera and tried everything in the support articles. The only events I'm getting now are doorbell ring events, not sound and motion. I'll attach some pics. I also cannot connect to Nest with my pc. I get a spinning circle. I couldn't attach pics.

Hi there!

Thanks for the follow-up information.

Please try these steps:

  • Notifications in the Nest app: Ensure all notifications are enabled. Refer to this article: Camera and doorbell alerts.
  • Interference: Electronic devices like microwaves and cordless phones can sometimes interfere with your thermostat's Wi-Fi signal.

Keep me posted.
