Nest Cameras Detecting Events Outside of Detection Zones

This is a repost of an erlier issues i posted about and it was locked for some reason. The issue is still outstanding and problems with cameras persist.

I have several of the new Nest outdoor battery cameras. All of the cameras are connected and hardwired to a power source. I have setup several detection zones and have turned off notifications for events outsize of my detection zones.

We live on a very busy street and I need detection for vehicles entering my property(defined by a detection zone) but not outside of it. I continue to receive notifications for events occurring outside of the detection zones. I have tried to make the detection zones smaller to ensure that the detection area is limited without success.

Short of turning off all notifications, I  cant detection to work properly.  So far the performance of these devices has been disappointing.
