Nest Doorbell 2nd Gen with Electronic Chime

VijaySundar

Hi: I purchased a Nest 2nd Gen Doorbell yesterday. I am trying to connect it to my existing Nutone Electronic Chime module. There are wiring diagrams available in youtube (see below for a picture) that describe how to connect a Nest Doorbell to a Nutone Electronic Chime module, so compatibility is not an issue. Those wiring diagrams show a nest chime connector with 4 wires in it. However, the chime connector that came with the 2nd gen Nest Doorbell has only 2 wires; I am not sure how to wire it to work with an electronic chime. Anyone has a solution?. ThanksNest_wiring.jpg

I don't know if this will help, but the topic below has wiring diagrams for the chime puck for the 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell:

Thank you!. I have looked at that & those are for a mechanical chime, not for an electronic chime. The youtube video link below clearly demonstrates the working of Nest Doorbell (1st gen) with an electronic chime (watch from 15 mins onwards for Nutone electronic chime). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6YswmDNVyI

The only difference is the number of wires in the chime connector; the 1st gen Nest Doorbell had in the video has 4 wires in the chime connector & the 2nd Gen doorbell that was shipped to me has only 2 wires.

@VijaySundar

Maybe you just connect one wire from the chime puck and one wire from the new doorbell to each of the connectors to the coil contacts in the relay (where just the chime connector wires were connected with the old Nest Hello). That's just a guess.
