I recently bought a Nest doorbell (Battery). After setup issues (download update was stuck) Google replaced it with a new device. The replacement doorbell was set up in no time. Yeey !
After charging the doorbell to 100% I disconnect it from the USB-C cable. Unfortunately the doorbell video doesn't work. The Google home app says:
"Camera off - Battery fully charged"
"Please activate this device again to see the live video or get notifications."
Unfortunately there is no button in the Google Home app to turn it on. There is no way to get the video to show anything. Also the doorbell doesn't react or ring a chime when pressed.
Any suggestions ? My other camera's work just fine and can be turned on/off via the app.

Ok ... found the solution here: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Why-my-100-charged-mounted-google-doorb...
If the metal backplate is not attached to the camera, it won't work at all.

Hi Liviooo,
Good to know everything's working fine — you know where to find us if there's anything else.
Thanks,

Hey there,
It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will be locking this in 24 hours if we won't hear back from you again. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.
Cheers,
