Nest Doorbell Battery Repeatedly Goes Offline

Just received it today and I am in the process of setting it up/testing it before I mount it outside but it repeatedly drops "Offline" I have factory reset it twice as I don't see any way to simply restart it. It is charged to 100% and right now it is sitting in the same room as my wifi router. Is there some setting I'm missing or is there some sort of timeout period after an event? Is my unit defective?

Hi, I have been having a similar issue for months where the doorbell stream to my Nest Hub drops out and comes back then drops out and stays out. The odd thing is that whilst its dropped out I can still get a perfect stream on my iPad so its not the doorbell connecting to the internet its the stream from google to the hub. I am so frustrated that when my Nest Camera subscription renews I am going to move to another doorbell solution like Arlo or Ring etc.

Hi folks,

denzoid, I’m sorry to hear that and for the delayed response. No worries, we’ll sort this out — a few questions: what’s the status light of the doorbell? How far is the doorbell from the router? Is it connected to 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network? Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the cameras? Also, were there any changes to your Wi-Fi network?

Johngilham, I’m sorry for the trouble viewing your doorbell on the Nest Hub. Don’t give up on us yet. Are your doorbell and Nest Hub connected to the same Wi-Fi network? Are they paired in the same home structure in the Google Home app?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

JT

Hi Janthandeus, Yes they are connected to the same WiFi network hub and are paired in the same Home App. The questions you asked others here are not relevant to my situation as if I watch the doorbell stream on an ipad then it is constant and still there when the hub drops out. I have three hubs and the same problem relates to all of them.

JT,
Thanks for the response.
Right now, it has reconnected so the status light (the light around the button) is off until it senses motion, then it turns white. The doorbell is approx. 15 feet from my wifi router (A Unifi UDM) there is a glass window between the two and the signal appears to not be the problem as my wifi router reports the following:

Channel 44 (5 GHz, 20 MHz)
Signal -75 dBm
AP/Client Signal Balance - Good
Standard WiFi 4
MIMO Configuration 1x1
Rx Rate 72.0 Mbps
Tx Rate 65.0 Mbps
WiFi Experience Excellent (96%)
There are no devices that you mention close to the doorbell, there is a Reolink Wifi camera approx. 8 feet away.
There have been no changes to my wifi network.

I replied but haven't heard anything from you for two weeks now, I'd appreciate any help you can provide, thanks.

Hi. I did reply as follows but didn’t hear anything back from you, not that I am expecting a fix.
