Nest Doorbell Battery (also wired) Doesn't Ring Chime

I installed the subject doorbell and also attached the previous doorbell wires. Prior to attaching the wires, I measured a solid 20 volts AC on them and touching the wires together rings the chime inside. However, after attaching the wires to the Nest Doorbell Battery, it does not ring the chime inside. Other than that, it works fine. What might I need to do to get the chime to ring when the doorbell is activated? Oh, the camera works fine and we get a notification on the iPhone soon after the bell is pushed. Thanks!

@PDXMarty

In the Google Home app, do you have the "Indoor chime" option enabled for your battery doorbell?

If you installed your battery doorbell in the Google Home app BEFORE wiring your doorbell, the "Indoor chime" option may be grayed out and disabled. If that is the case, I think you may need to remove your doorbell from the Google Home app and reinstall it, so that it recognizes that it is wired and enables the "Indoor chime" option.

The indoor chime option is indeed grayed out/disabled. I didn't install the doorbell in the app so it's likely it was done prior to wiring. I'll try un-install re-install. Thanks!

Remove the doorbell from the Google Home app first.  This is supposed to trigger a factory reset.  If that doesn't happen, you may have to do a manual factory reset prior to reinstalling.

Hi everyone,

@PDXMarty, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. The voltage and power required for your Nest Doorbell (battery)  to work with your home's doorbell system are:

Voltage: 8 to 24 V AC

Power: 10 to 40 VA

Frequency: 50 to 60 Hz

For proper installation, you may watch our video clip to our public article about "Install Nest Doorbell (battery)".

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,
