Nest Doorbell (Battery) is pugged in but still drain the battery

I have my Nest doorbell (battery) plugged in (using the chime). In the home app it shows it is plugged in but after a few days, it shows the battery is low and finally it stops working and asks for charging. The battery usage setting is in "balanced" mode.  The chime has the specification that google asked and when it is connected to the chime it works with no problem and the app shows the doorbell is plugged in!

Any idea what is wrong?

There are many customers reporting problems keeping their Google Nest Doorbell (Battery) charged, especially when the temperature gets to around 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius), which is well within its stated operating range.  The thread below has over 500 replies.  We were thinking of buying one of the battery doorbells until we saw this thread, and so instead bought another Google Nest Hello Doorbell.
