Nest Doorbell (Battery) isnt detecting movements

RamaIndrawan

Hello

I have just wired my nest doorbell (battery) since the successful installation by an electrician, it only picked up one movement. Hours since, though i tried approaching the camera, nothing has been recorded at all, let alone sends out any alerts to my phone.

Ive triple checked the events and all are enabled which inc. The push notifications.

Why ????? Please help ...

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be. I would love to help you find a solution to this issue.

  • Do the both of you have a good strong wifi connection? It could be related to your connection if it is not a strong one.
  • Have you tried to Restart your devices? Definitely give that a go. You can learn how here
  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far besides what is stated here?

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi all sorry for the late response. It turns out that fact. Reset the device helped. However do notice that for some odd reasons, straight after this was done, the sensitivity level of the device wasnt the best and slowly over the coming days improved. Unsure if its just a placebo effect or indeed Google Nest devices have some sort of intelligence that needs to be trained over time !

The similar issue re occurred again after i ended my nest aware subs. I refact reset again and it did the learning the same way again and ended up picking up its game after a few days.

Odd, but this happened 2x and i did the same fix that took some learning time and its all permanentlt good now.

Maybe it has some active ML feature that indeed needs training depending on environment, etc. ?

Hey there, @Ramalndrawan.

Thank you so much for bringing this up to my attention! There definitely is a learning factor built into the AI that works like Familiar Faces for example. Granted; this is available with a Nest Aware subscription, but the AI is still there. I will go ahead and submit this feedback forward for you. Thank you for all of your patience.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on this issue.

Best Regards,

Brad.
