Nest Doorbell Lens Broken

suchashorttime

As many other people have noted in the forum, my Nest Doorbell (battery) mount failed and the lens to the doorbell broke. I contacted customer service who refused to help because my doorbell is no longer under warranty. Frankly, considering the mount itself failed to keep the Doorbell attached, I had hoped for a better resolution. It seems like some folks are having more luck by posting on the Forum, so I am hoping that this post helps generate a solution better than nothing. After all, these are expensive devices and the expectation that a product that requires unmounting for periodic charging should be able to be remounted without incident is not unreasonable.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

There seem to be lots of reports from customers in this forum about the mounting mechanism for the battery doorbell, which really should be more durable to support a doorbell that has to be repeatedly dismounted in order to charge it.

Hopefully, a Google Nest Community Specialist will step in on this thread.

What makes matters worse is that my doorbell is fully functioning with the exception of the shattered lens. If Google won't support their product with replacement due to a less-than-reliable mount, they should at least provide the means by which a working unit can be fixed.
