Nest Doorbell “Skin”

Hello.

I have a Nest Hello doorbell, about 18 months old, and it is molting terribly. It was always undercover at our old house on our porch and it was only peeling just a little bit, but now that we moved and it is exposed to the sun a couple hours per day, it is really starting to peel. I get that I can throw a silicone cover on it to hide its appearance, but I can see the delaminated plastic in the lens and it is pretty aggravating. Has anyone had any luck getting google to replace the faceplate on their doorbells, or replace the doorbell in its entirety? Or… I’d even be ok if google provided a cover and then I’d just trim the plastic so it wasn’t in the camera lens.

I was doing more “googling” last night and didn’t realize how many folks are having the same issue. Really mixed as far as resolutions. I’ve seen some where google replaces the unit, seen some where google refuses to anything and people are ok with it, and some where people are liquidating their google products because google won’t replace. We have too many google products (15) of various functions around our home that I highly doubt I would go to the extreme of starting over with a different product line no matter what googles answer was on my question. My issue is mostly aesthetic….
