Nest Doorbell Turns Off When Rung: Google Support Closing all Threads

There are thousands of customers pointing out that an undisclosed internal battery in the wired nest hello dies and is unserviceable after about a year of use. This is a known issue but Google will deny it exists and close all threads that bring this up. They are not offering any solutions beyond a general FAQ that doesn't solve the issue.

Hi @nneeeddd

If the problem with the doorbell is indeed the battery, then Google Nest isn't doing anything past the typical warranty options for your region.

I also had a Nest Hello that stopped working and would reboot with every press. It was out of warranty and I chose to get a new Nest doorbell even though I was super annoyed that the Hello stopped working.

You can try reaching out to Contact Us - Google Nest Help support and see if there is anything else they can do.

@nneeeddd

The internal batteries in all three of our (1st gen) Google Nest Hello Doorbells have now failed in succession. As with many customers, we have turned off the "Indoor chime" option on each; this prevents the doorbell from going offline when the doorbell button is pressed. We instead rely on "Visitor announcements" on our Nest Hubs and Nest Mini.
