Our Nest doorbell seems to have randomly stopped working. it has no power. I removed the doorbell and connected the wires but no chime, so I assume it's missing power for some reason. What could it be?

Hi and thank you so much for your response and info. I'm not sure if I have a 1st or 2nd generation and it doesn't seem to say on the very small print on the back. The doorbell works just fine, until we had a new modem installed. The 2 things seemed to coincide. The doorbell is/was paired to a Nest account. There have been no known recent power outages in our area. I have removed the doorbell and when I touch the 2 wires together that connect to the back, there is on chime. When the doorbell was connected there were no lights on the doorbell. It seems to be an absence of electrical power. I've had a look at the transformer within the chime box and everything looks fine. There has been no damage to the doorbell itself.
Thanks
Julie
