Nest Doorbell & Transformer

I just bought a 6 yo house.  Tried to move my Nest 2d gen doorbell but now have the buzzing problem others have.  The circuit breaker panel is in garage so idiot question - where is the doorbell's transformer assuming there is one from the panel to the doorbell chime box.  Do I have to climb into attic or ???? I tried replacing the original chime box with 16v chime and buzzing still there.  So short of chopping into walls is there a simple way to find transformer w/o calling a $150/hour electrician?  Thanks in advance for any support.

@markrich2200

Doorbell transformers can be located almost anywhere. You can try to guess at where your doorbell wires run through the house between your door and your doorbell chime. We've been in our 94-year-old home for almost 48 years, before the walls and ceilings in the basement were closed up, and so we know where the transformer is. But when we had to replace it a couple of years ago, it was really awkward to access it.

This link includes Home Depot's suggestions on where to look:

This link has Hunker's suggestion for possible locations:

Happy hunting!

Like all things in construction it just would make sense to have 1-3 standard install locations.  If I can’t find in attic I’ll hire an electrician to pull panel and look. Thx!

I think the easiest solution is to use a battery powered model and if I ever need the services of an electrician then pursue finding the hidden transformer.  Thanks all!
