Nest Doorbell peeling

I recently noticed that my Nest Doorbell is peeling. After doing some research online I realized that this is actually quite common and it seems like it is a product defect. While speaking with support they told me that since I am out of warranty (3 months) there is nothing they can do and they do not make exceptions. I find this very disappointing considering that I have multiple nest products 2 cameras, doorbell, smoke alarm including n’est aware which costs over 120$/year.  To be told that they can escalate my issue but nothing will happen because “we won’t have options for you”. It really makes me rethink if Google is the best option for a connected home compared to others. Anyone relate to this issue ?
