Hello,
I have a nest doorbell (gen 2 battery) and have had it for a while. Usually the battery lasts a week.
I have installed a power supply to this and noticed that the doorbell still needed charging after approximately 2 weeks. I had hoped that it was now a fit and forget solution but it seems not.
I have experimented with the settings and discovered that clip length and resolution do not significantly affect the power usage.
However having a zone setup does. This seems to drain the power so much the power supply cant keep it topped up.
Why is this happening? Ive reset several times and re added to the home environment.
Does anyone know if this is an issue with the wired doorbells from the states? and do those record 24/7?
