Nest Doorbell wired "Gen1" going on and offline

What changed? Was there a new firmware deployed?

This doorbell worked fine for years, just the past few days it keeps going offline after being online for 10 minutes.

rebooted device by turn of power. no help

checked all power wires, device is not losing power when it goes offline, led lights are on.

Factory reset device, this did not resolve the issue.

Home wifi is perfect. Doorbell experience score is 100% in wifi cloud console.

Hi ericjames,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry that your Nest Doorbell Wired 1st Gen is going offline even though it is connected with no Wi-Fi troubles in the past. I understand how frustrating this can be. Let's work together to find a solution.

For further assistance, I need to ask a few questions:

  • Are you getting any error messages?
  • How far is the Nest Wired Doorbell 1st Gen from the router?
  • Do you have other Nest devices in the house?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the Nest Wired Doorbell 1st Gen?
  • Do other devices experience slow internet speeds?
  • What Wi-Fi frequency band do you try to connect to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?
  • Did you recently make any network changes, like a new router or a recent move?
  • Did you recently change the network name or password?

Please keep me posted. I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Byron
