Nest Doorbell

I’ve read previous comments about issues with being able to connect the nest doorbell to the google home app. After reading threads about this issue and seeing there was no resolution for those owners, I decided to post the answer. I suspect this most commonly happens when a nest doorbell is disconnected from a previous home and never CORRECTLY receives a factory reset. The answer: hold the rest button down for ~15 seconds (no joke) and then wait about 5 seconds and the camera light will FINALLY turn a different color and you’ll be able to add it to your google home. Please post this publicly to help others.
