Nest Doorbell

am Nest Aware subscriber and find it incredibly frustrating to lose all my video history whenever I need to change my Wi-Fi network. I pay for cloud storage expecting my data to be safeguarded, not tied to a specific network.

I suggest implementing a temporary cloud upload feature when users initiate a network change. This way, even after a reset, we'd be able to restore our Nest Aware history. This would greatly improve the user experience.

Yes, it's ridiculous. I need to change my WiFi name but can't unless I basically factory reset my doorbell which means I lose all my saved "familiar faces". Absolutely stupid, what other device needs to be factory reset to connect to a different network for gods sake.

Hi folks,

Thank you for posting. I'm really sorry that your previously recorded videos were lost after factory rest. We've always working to improve Nest's features and service.

Here's a helpful guide on creating and saving video clips before removing your Nest doorbell.

We also appreciate your feedback about this concern. It helps us identify areas for improvement in future updates.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Byron

no one asked about saving video clips.

How does "Here's a helpful guide on creating and saving video clips before removing your Nest doorbell" help us change a wifi network or not force us to lose our saved Familiar Faces?

Did you even read the question or are you AI like all the others because if you could read as a human your response wouldn't be completely irrelevant to the question asked.

Hi Super_paulie,

Thank you for posting. I understand it must be frustrating to factory reset every time you want to change your Wi-Fi network.

The previous steps was in response to @alekpus, and I apologize if it wasn't clear.

Unfortunately, right now changing Wi-Fi settings requires a factory reset because it helps the app and device recognize the new network. We're working on improving this process in future updates.

In the mean time, feedback is really appreciated for us to work on an update soon.

Regards,

Byron
