Hi -
I had this Nest Hello Doorbell since July 2019, The microphone never worked until I found out my neighbor's same product can do it when I helped deliver a package and all of a sudden they speak to me thru. the doorbell and we can talk!
I thought it only act as a doorbell so I did follow up the instruction set the chime, and doorbell, never used the talk feature.
I came to check my wiring, and setting on my app, compared with neighbor's, we both think it's not the app or setting issue, it's the microphone not working, we can hear talking from app, but no sound through doorbell to app.
I bought from Costco but it's way past 3-month, so i can't return to Costco.
I like the feature that can talk so much, as a matter of fact, that saves me .
Can google nest offer me a replacement Nest Hello Doorbell?
I appreciate it very much!
George

Same here - my doorbell microphone used to work, but doesn't any more, unless the subject is within an inch or two, then you can hear the microphone kick in, like it was doing extreme noise suppression up until that point. I have other nest cameras, and they have a setting for microphone sensitivity. The Doorbell doesn't however. The feature isn't there. I believe the software has locked it into 100% microphone sensitivity, so it's actually filtering out ALL noise. Brad, can you help me out?

I have the same problem. There are a couple of threads here reporting this same problem, but no solution. If I turn up the volume to maximum on my phone or laptop, i can here some faint hiss, but no actual noises from the area. But I have two other nest cameras, and both have audio that works fine. Is there something that maybe blocks the microphone that needs to be cleaned? Or does the microphone just fail on these wired doorbell units?
