Nest Hello Doorbell is Peeling

I also have a Nest Hello doorbell that is peeling, out of warranty and looks horrible. I contacted Google customer support about this issue and was asked for the serial number which I provided with a photo of the doorbell. I was then was asked to take a photo of the device with the serial number and a written document since they clearly don't trust me. I'm not sure why they cant lookup my SN on my account and see that they match. 

Every time I've had issues with these devises Google customer support make you jump through 1000 hoops just to get something done. They make me want to sale everything and move on to something else... Why cant google treat their customers with respect instead of making you feel like your the criminal?

This issues seems to be very well documented and google is definitely aware of the issues, so why cant they have an easy way to fix it when it happens.    

I work in the IT industry and get asked quite often about what products I recommend for things and after having to deal with googles customer service more times than I care to discuss I will be leaving there products off that list.

This is a manufacturing issues and google should address it.
