I purchased a Nest Hello (wired) today which was installed by a professional. When the bell rings it is super slow to connect! It it is a few feet from a modern high speed router and on the same network and I have tried rebooting the router and the app as well as closing down all apps other than Nest and it makes no difference - any advice?

I'm just another Google Nest customer, with 3 Nest Hellos, the oldest being almost 4 years old.
If your doorbell is correctly installed and its chime connector is correctly installed, and if your Wi-Fi network is reliable, the camera in your doorbell should always be "Live" if viewed in the Google Nest app, the Google Home app, on the home.nest.com website, or on the home.google.com website, your indoor chime should ring immediately (unless you do not have an indoor doorbell chime), and you should get a notification on your phone (through the Google Nest app) within a few seconds, sometimes a bit longer.
In addition, if you have Nest Hubs or Nest Minis or Nest speakers and have "Visitor announcements" enabled on your doorbell (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451?hl=en), you should also get a visitor announcement on your speakers within a few seconds.
