Nest Hello Wired Doorbell won't reset

Thordust

I tried all the instructions on the page to reset my nest hello doorbell(wired), it doesn't seem to work. I see a light on the ring and it disappears during the reset process and I don't hear any chime. Ring light comes back after few minutes including the green light on the top. I see error NC003 while trying to set it up.

Hi folks,

Yikes! Let's see what's going on. A few questions:

  • Has the device been paired before?
  • What type of device do you have?
  • When and from where was the device purchased?
  • How far have you gotten in pairing your device?
  • How far is the device from the router?
  • Can you connect to the internet with other devices?
  • Are there any other devices that experience issues with the Wi-Fi?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the device you want to pair? Those devices could interfere with the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal.

Also, kindly follow these steps:

  1. Make sure it’s on the same Wi-Fi network as the selected network for the Nest device.
  2. Bluetooth should be enabled, but it should not be connected to any Bluetooth devices.
  3. Cellular data should be turned off.
  4. On iOS devices with iOS 14 or later, ensure that Local Network Access is enabled for the Nest or Google Home app.
    • On the iOS device's home screen, tap Settings.
    • Tap Privacy > Local Network.
  5. On the list of apps, turn on Local Network Access for the Nest or Google Home app.
  6. Factory reset your Nest Hello. The doorbell must be plugged in during the factory reset, even if it normally runs on battery power.
  7. Restart the access point, the assisting Nest device, and the new Nest device and try again.
  8. Re-scan the QR code or manually enter the entry key.
  9. Create a new home structure in the app, then add the Nest device to that home.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Zoe

I'm having the very same problem as I write this.  PLEASE, if someone knows the answer, post it.  I've spent hours on this following the Nest Instructions to no avail. I'm almost ready to get rid of it and get a different brand.

After trying all of the above I realized I did not reset the device while it is on my previous wifi connection and location. Once connected to previous wifi I was able to reset and connect the device to new wifi and was able to move to new location.
