Nest Hello&Dot - Need chime

DogBob

My house has a Nest Hello doorbell and simple Amazon Echo Dot, 3rd gen. The doorbell works with my phone. But at present, there's no chime in the house.

Is there a way to get the Echo Dot to CHIME when someone pushes the doorbell? When I read instructions for this on the web, they say that you must have a video-compatible Echo. My Dot doesn't support video and I don't need video. I simply want to have a chime in the house when someone pushes the button.

If this isn't possible with the Echo Dot, what is the simplest other way to do this?

Thank you for your advice.

My original post was wrong. Sorry for the confusion.

I have a new house. The house has a NEST HELLO doorbell and a conventional indoor chime. I didn't realize it had a chime because the chime doesn't work. Eventually, I found the chime and called the builder's electrician. He reset the NEST HELLO, tested the doorbell, and the indoor chime worked. He left.

Then I deleted the doorbell from my android Nest app, reinstalled the doorbell into the Nest app, and the chime stopped working again.

THE ANDROID APP IS PREVENTING THE CHIME FROM RINGING. That's the real problem.

Please forgive me for the misleading first question.

Help!

Follow-up: I was able to fix this issue. The mechanical chime requires more than 1 second duration. With it set to 2 seconds, I do hear the chime. All set.

But it would also be cool to have the Echo Dot chime. 🙂
