Hello,
I have the Nest Hub Max, originally bought back in 2020. It is updated to the latest version. I recently bought the Nest Wired Doorbell Gen 3. Both are on the same WiFi network, both are part of the same Home in the Google Home app.
When the doorbell is pressed, an alert is not sent to the Nest Hub Max. An alert is also not sent to two Nest speakers that I have, but I am focusing on the Nest Hub Max for now. My expectation was for the live stream to automatically pop up on the Nest Hub Max, or at the very least for a notification to appear. Neither happens. A notification does appear on my phone when the doorbell is pressed.
I have rebooted both devices several times (the Hub Max through the app, the Doorbell by disconnecting the wires and reconnecting). I have verified the WiFi and Home settings. The doorbell has visitor announcements turned on. Under the "events" in the settings, there is no option for the doorbell press, but for "seen events" I have several options selected.
The Hub Max shows the doorbell when I view "home control", and is able to pull up the video when I day "okay Google, display doorbell on Hub Max".
I am not sure what steps to take next, everything seems set correctly and otherwise functions normally. I would like the Doorbell to automatically stream on the Hub Max as expected, or at the very least announce a visitor on the Hub Max and Speakers as indicated in the settings.
Thank you.

Hi @chasecarter,
Thanks for posting in the community! I understand that you aren't receiving alerts on your Nest Hub Max or your two Nest Speakers when someone presses the button on your Nest Doorbell (wired, 3rd gen), even though you do receive them on your phone. I know this situation must be concerning, especially since you’ve confirmed that visitor announcements are enabled and you can still view the live feed via voice commands. I appreciate the detailed information you’ve shared so far. No worries, let's work together to get this resolved.
Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.
Cheers,
Jonathan

Hello,
The Nest Doorbell was added to the same Home structure as the Nest Hub Max. Additional details, I only have one home structure on my account. The Nest Hub Max had been recently re-added to the home structure, and the Nest Doorbell was added after the recent purchase.
Visitor announcements were never tested as I previously did not have a Nest Doorbell.
After researching and coming across another forum, I saw a user suggest asking the Nest Hub to turn off "do not disturb". The app showed it was off, I had even turned it on and back off with no success. After I asked the Hub Max directly to turn off "do not disturb ", the Nest Hub Max now will announce a visitor upon pressing the doorbell.
Why does there seem to be two separate "do not disturb" settings? One seen in the app and one that changes when using voice commands?
Does the Nest Hub Max not display the doorbell automatically when pressed? I am glad that it now will announce a visitor, but I would like the video from the doorbell to automatically display.

Hi @chasecarter,
Thanks for your response and for answering the previous questions. I'm glad to hear that you were able to get the visitor announcements working on your Nest Hub Max by using a voice command to turn off "Do Not Disturb," even though the Google Home app showed it was already off.
Regarding your question about why the Google Home app shows the "Do Not Disturb" feature as off, please check if you are using the latest version of the app. Also, the live feed of your Nest Doorbell should pop up automatically as soon as someone presses the button. Since you are already receiving notifications on your Nest Hub, you could try factory resetting the doorbell. This will erase its current settings, and you will need to add it back to the app, but it often helps refresh the connection between your doorbell and your Nest Hub. You can check out the following article for detailed instructions: Restart or factory reset Nest camera or doorbell.
Please keep me posted.

Jonathan

I started with a factory reset of the Nest Hub Max, since that was the older device and was easier to reset than the doorbell.
After a factory reset, the Nest Hub Max now alerts that the doorbell is pressed as well as displaying the feed after about an 8-10 second delay. Thank you for the factory reset suggestion.

Hi @chasecarter,
Thanks for the update. I’m happy to hear that you are now receiving alerts and the live feed for your Nest Doorbell on your Nest Hub Max after factory resetting both devices. As a suggestion, please continue to monitor your devices' behavior to see if the delay issue is resolved, as delays can sometimes be related to the Wi-Fi connection.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Cheers,
Jonathan
