Hi I bought the nest WiFi a while back. When I first got it my cameras were working fine. About 5 months in all 5 of my cameras would cut off randomly but only one camera at a time. I know the cameras only work on 2.4 and the nest WiFi bounces from 2.4 to 5. I think the new update that downloaded has caused the cameras to bounce on 5 ghz at times and it shuts that camera down till it gets back on 2.4. It will shutoff for 10 min to 1.5 hours at times. I switched back to my SmartThings WiFi and the cameras have been working perfectly ever since. Is their going to be some kind of update for your WiFi routers to keep this from happening considering it’s an all in one system supposedly?

Definitely so. When I first added the nest WiFi router it was working great. Everything was running fast with no glitches. All of a sudden the cameras started cutting off at random and would just stay off for a random amount of time. I’m guessing it had to do with an update. I wanted to bring to the attention of someone that could get something done. I really liked the unit while it worked. My house has 5 google cameras along with other nest products. I would like to be able to use the 200 dollar unit you know. It’s silly I’m having to use a SmartThings router for all my cameras not to cut off.

I am so sorry to hear that you have ran into this issue! Usually it's recommended to keep the cam connected to a 2.4 channel, so I am not sure why it is prioritizing your 5ghz channel instead. Is your wifi a private network by chance?
Best regards,
Brad.

I’m not sure if it was or wasn’t during that time. Would being set to private cause issues?

I have seen issues with it before, but I am going to be transparent with you and say that I am not super familiar with wifi ins-and-outs. I would actually just suggest that you reach out to Support via phone or chat. Fill out the questions on the form, press next and choose your options.
Best regards,
Brad.
